The one thing I hate about budget phones is low internal memory. Even after being a root user and using link2sd application to link all your apps to sd card you must have started facing problems on low internal memory after some time. This problem drove me nuts because I was not able to identify what the hell was taking so much space on my phone even after I linked all my application and its data to sdcard. Finally after thoroughly searching my phone for the problem I finally found the solution. I don’t know if it is a bug in android or something but here is the solution.
Before I begin I would like to tell you that You need root access to solve the problem and you need an application known as root explorer.
There is a particular file in your phone’s internal memory which keeps on incresing as you use your phone. here are the steps to locate that file
- open root explorer
- open the folder named data.
- inside the folder named data there will be one more folder named data.
- As in case of an HTC smartphone user look for the folder named com.android.htcprofile. For other brands of smartphone user look for similar file name.
- there will be a file named “anr_history.txt” .just delete that file
WARNING: I am not responsible if your device gets bricked. I have tried this method on 4 different HTC phones and it has worked. Try at your own risk.
Apparently as you keep on using your phone the size of the file named “anr_history.txt” keeps on increasing. In my case it was occupying 80% of my internal memory.Just deete that file and you will get a huge boost in internal memory.
